Toko Bahan Craft di Kuala Lumpur

Sahabat Craft,

Sebagai seorang crafter, kemanapun kita pergi rasa rasanya selalu ingin tahu dimanakah toko bahan bahan craft berada, apalagi kalau kita mendapat info sebelumnya bahwa bahan craft di daerah tersebut bagus dan murah.

Jalan jalan sambil belanja bahan craft memang mengasyikkan, sekalian sambil mencari ide dan inspirasi dari toko toko craft yang ditemui di perjalanan.

Kuala Lumpur, tetangga dekat kitapun banyak terdapat toko craft yang menarik untuk disinggahi. Beberapa toko craft berlokasi di mall mall besar, so siapa tahu pas kebetulan jalan bisa sekalian mampir belanja bahan craft.

Harga bahan craft di Malaysia kalau di banding di Indonesia memang agak lebih mahal, namun untuk jenis bahan craft tertentu seperti benang rajut impor atau kain impor atau alat alat merajut dan quilting kadang kadang yang tidak ada di Indonesia bisa di dapatkan di Malaysia dengan harga yang lebih murah.

Disini banyak sekali buku buku craft Jepang maupun China selain banyak juga buku buku dari Amerika.

Untuk buku craft dari China, ada di Chinese section, seringkali harganya lebih murah dibanding buku buku Jepang.

Last week I was tagged by Elveera in this event .. Around The World Blog Hop ...
Sounds interesting, but I said that my blog is not active, I did not updated it for months ..
She said it's OK, this is your chance to reactivate the blog ... oh well .. she's right ..

So  The rule for this blog hop is simple, you just have to answer these 4 questions ... *it's not that simple for me ... huhuhu ...*

1. What am I working on ?

Oh well .. I am a person who want to do a lot of things ... 

I always have more than one project .. eerrr .. one crochet, one knitting, one quilting, one sewing ... hahaha  ...

These are my WIP for the moment :

1. Gryffindor shawl for my son

He will have hallowen party at school the end of this month, and the teacher said that this year the house will be like in Harry Potter's school. And he will be in Gryffindor's house, so he ask me to knit this shawl .... 

2. Ginko shawl

This shawl is actually the KAL project with Indonesian knitter for last month, since I was doing my Haruni shawl I didn't start casting on until my Haruni was finish, so while all my friends are finish their project, I just started it ... and now, doing my son's shawl make me pending  this ginko again ... 

3. Sewing Project collaborating with friend

My friend and I have a dream to compose a craft book, and we working hard on it. Sorry can not tell now, just hope that we can make our dream come true..

4. and some other projects that I almost forget hahaahha ....

2. How does my work differ from others of its genre ?

I think my works are not as different with others, I don't have a signature art work or any specialties.

I like simple design, bright colors ..

3. Why Do I Create What I do?

Why ? the answer is definitely because I like it ... I like what I am doing ..

I enjoy the process of choosing design, material and happy when it's done ... 

For these past 8 years I often give my handmade as a gift for friend, they know it's my handmade, they like it and I am even happier when they like what I made.

My friends knew me as a crafter, they always ask if I made the stuff myself, even if it's look impossible for me to make it they always ask ... do you make it yourself ? hahaha ...

4. How Does My Creative Process Work ?

Usually it starts with a specific purpose, for example I want to make a blanket as a gift for a friend's newborn baby or I want to make a bag for my son's art equipment.

So I have to decide what color to choose, what material to use, what type of design and sometimes just follow my mood.

It's not that easy though, choosing color and design may take days to decide as I have a medley of different types of fabric and yarn. 

I always want to do my best, and try to finish the project as soon as possible .. even though  some of it may be postponed due to another new project I have to finish first.

Sometimes I make my own design, for this process I make the design first, and look for the material, comparing here and there, adding this and adding that ... I really like this process .. although sometimes it's very frustrating also  ...

Well ... that's about me and my hobby.. 

It's my turn to tag my creative friends now ... 

who will it be ? I did not visit any blogs recently, ever since there is Facebook I am more active in facebook rather than in blog.

What am I doing all this time ? Well I did some handmade stuff but mostly just busy with daily activities.

Ramadhan, Raya,School holidays .. busy ..busy .. busy ..

But ... I manage to finish all these until last September ..

Slipper biru merah

Dapet pola dari internet pas lagi browsing2 ... eh sekarang dicari lagi udah ilang gak inget lagi apa nama polanya, apa link nya ... widiiiih 

Pertama lihat langsung suka warnanya, biru muda dengan merah nampak cerah banget kan .. apalagi bunga bunga kecil kecil ituh ..

Tapi ukurannya lebih kecil dari yang biasa aku bikin, jadi kalau dipakai benangnya akan nampak agak agak jarang. Kecuali kalau kakinya agak kecil.

Bandana for baby

Membuat barang barang aksesories untuk baby memang menggemaskan. Once you do it you can not stop ... pengen lagi lagi dan lagi 

Awalnya mau bagi bagi untuk baby baby cute  di group Arisan Rempong, lah kok pengen bikin lagi .. so buat lagi 3 biji untuk di taruh di toko di Jakarta.

Pake softy cotton / Thalenta Star warna warni, dan 4mm hook 

Polanya ? dari japanese pattern yang agak agak di modified 

Nah cari karetnya ini yg belum nemu di KL, itu juga dapetnya dari saung Thalenta di Surabaya

I felt in love at the first sight with this pattern, it's from japanese pattern book

I was so excited doing it, until when it's half finish my son said ..Ibu, it is like a tablecloth .. and my husband said ... round tablecloth ... *sob sob*

... dan hilanglah segala semangat buat nyelesaiin capelet ini ... numpuk di pojokan    .. padahal sudah tinggal last row

But .... sayang banget gak di selesaikan .. kan tinggal dikiiiit lagi, maka ngebutlah nyelesaikannya.

Cantik sih kalau dipakai dengan jilbab pendek, tapi kok belum PD makenya yaaa ?

Masih kebayang pake taplak meja di badan gitu lho ... :P

Colorful Doily

Dapat pesana doily dengan warna warna bebas ...

Setelah 30 doily dengan kombinasi warna yang 'biasa biasa' .. maksudnya kalo semburnya ada kuning yaa di padu polos kuning, atau sembur ada biru dipadu polos biru ... dan bosan itupun datang melanda ...

Boseeeeeennn ... warna itu itu model sama ...

So ..mulailah keluar paduan warna warna ekstrim kesukaanku ...

Busy bee ..

Been a bit busy these few days ..

I almost forgot to make these mug rug swap, I thought the deadline was end of February, ternyata deadline kirimnya 11 march..

Plan to send them tomorrow and hope that my partner will like them.

My sister called last week and asked me to make 50 doilies for May .. oh well ... kena ngebut buatnya.

This doily is from Thata Pang's first book, ethnic doily, using Indonesian mixcotton yarn and katun bali, hook size 4.

This one is my eksperiment using katun bali and the pattern is from Japanese book which I don't know the title ..

Pola campuran antara ngarang sendiri dan punya ini, topi juga antara nyonto di pola buku jepang dan ngarang sendiri.

Oh Dear ... it's 2013 ...

Oh .. it's 2013 already and almost end of February ..

I did not too crafty for the last year didn't I ? 

Promise to be more creative this year, will make my hand dancing with yarns, fabrics, scissor, needle ...

From Cake to Crochet

Rainbow Cake and Ombre cake are very popular recently... 

I don't really like baking, but these cakes are sooo tempting .. and the colors is so beautiful .. 

So I made them into crochet .. 

Rainbow phone case 

Ombre is a French term meaning "shaded." 
Usually a multicolored stripe, with colors graduating from light to dark ... 
Tapi due to terbatasnya stok benang, my shaded color is not that good...
